Just a quick note to save you some time,
Despite what everyone seems to think ; pfSense simply DOES NOT work under Parallels as a VM, with the default settings. The firewall rules will never work, the traffic will always be blocked. The only way to connect is by pfctl -d
It’s a bug ; the E1000 driver does not work, the RTL does not work either.
The only way to get pfSense to run properly (like ; filter fsking trafic) under Parallels on MAC is to switch the network interfaces to VIRTIO ( vtnet0 ) and then pfSense will suddenly start working.
It took me hours to figure this out, I thought I was going crazy with my firewall rules which were never working like they should.
